COVID Vaccination Memo

Dear Residents,

I trust this correspondence finds you well and staying healthy!

I'm pleased to offer some exciting news.... Federation Housing residents, agency wide, have been identified to be offered a COVID vaccination in one of the first national priority tier pools (1B). These Vaccinations are being provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and in our case are being administered via a 3rd party pre-selected pharmacy – CVS.

The role of Management is to help collect data on how many residents want the Vaccination so that CDC/CVS knows the quantity of Vaccine they will need at each property. A Federation Housing staff member will be contacting each and every resident to ask one simple question – Do you want to be added to this list of residents who wants to be vaccinated? A simple Yes or NO is all the information we need.

NOTE: The staff of Federation Housing is NOT medically trained and cannot advise you in any way concerning the COVID Vaccine.

This COVID vaccination opportunity is just that – an opportunity – NOT A REQUIREMENT. Receiving a Vaccination is a personal choice and we highly recommend speaking with your primary health care provider to help make the best decision. Unfortunately, these Vaccinations are NOT available for guests, visitors, aides, family members, etc. Vaccinations are for residents and staff only.

What We Need From You...

Cooperation in following the instructions that will be provided to all residents about the date, time, and scheduling of the Vaccination roll out. Any resident who interferes or disrupts the Vaccination process will simply not receive one through this initiative.

Keep in mind some 1,500 seniors call a Federation Housing managed property HOME and each of you are our collective priority. Please help us – help you!

There will NOT be any preferential treatment or Priority status given to anyone regardless of healthcare needs/concerns. If you feel that your need is greater than your neighbors and you should receive your Vaccination sooner than others – contact your primary healthcare provider – NOT building management.

What’s next?...

Management will collect the data on how many Vaccinations are desired at each building location and provide that information to the CDC/CVS. The CDC will then determine the date, times and appointments available to administer the Vaccination and Management will share that schedule with all of you when we receive it.

Please do not call the Management office asking when the Vaccinations will be coming. The moment we know, you will know.

NOTE: CVS does have a 2 page Consent form that must be completed in advance in order to receive the Vaccination. You must complete this form on your own and without the assistance of Management. Management is NOT authorized to complete this form on a resident’s behalf. The Consent forms will be distributed as soon as we receive them.

Lastly, please join me in commending the courageous staff of Federation Housing, agency wide, who are front line heroes handling essential duties to maintain your HOME. In fact, this Vaccination opportunity came as a direct result of early outreach by the Federation Housing staff to the CDC & Philadelphia Health Department.

I am proud of our collective efforts in battling this Pandemic and look forward to your full cooperation.

Remember to wear a mask, wash your hands and maintain social distance at all times.

Wishing you and your families sustained good health.

Sincerely,

Eric Naftulin Jane Lahage Alyssa Moss
