Fairy Tail Acres Pig Rescue Visit
The residents of Ephraim Goldstein Apartments, along with clients from Abramson Adult Day Center, were surprised to see two pigs from Fairy Tail Acres stride into the building on a wintry January 2019. Charlie and Franklin, the two rescue pigs that now reside at Fairy Tail Acres, were delighted to show-off their skills and personality to an enthusiastic audience. In addition to learning about the role of Fairy Tail Acres as a rescue shelter for pigs and other animals, residents were able to see the pigs perform tricks such as playing the piano, sitting, laying down and turning around. Fairy Tail Acres staff answered the residents’ many questions regarding this unique and enjoyable pet therapy.
Highlight of the event: getting to feed and walk the pigs, giving them much-deserved ear scratches and taking pictures with the celebrity pigs!
Many thanks to Alexandra Demuth, Ephraim Goldstein Apartments Service Coordinator, for arranging this special program for the residents.
We hope to have Fairy Tail Acres Rescue visit again in the spring!
